SCVMAN REALLY CAME TO MY HOUSE ... (haha I used to give excuse that i had an appointment with the scvman whenever I am lazy to go out with my friends. Because it is quite hard to predict when they will come to your house as they will inform you that they will come around this period of time, thus you have to stay at home and wait for their arrival.)
My internet connection was extremely bad and I just had to call Starhub for their intervention. Either it failed to connect after many agonizing attempts or it would be connected for a short while before losing the connection. Imagine I had lived with it for weeks. Something to share about the customer service from Starhub. As I could not comprehend those technical terms thus the Customer Care Consultant sounded quite peeved but it was still to an acceptable level. He suggested sending a technical officer to check in the evening and I agreed to it. He helped me to do some configuration for my internet and it worked well for an hour. Therefore I called Starhub to cancel the appointment as I was thinking to myself that the glitch was gone. BUT not long later, the same Customer Care Consultant called me and enquired the reason for canceling the appointment. Well I told him my reasons for doing so and he explained the needs for that check to prevent possible technical glitch in the future. That moment struck me as I was having my inner thought like ok he was even more concerned than me about this glitch. I must say that I am extremely impressed by his go the extra mile service because his service did not stop after our telephone session ended. He still bothered to ring me to inform me the paramount need for a check. I am glad that I heeded his advice.
The technical officer who was sent to my house provided equally outstanding customer service and he shared tips with me on how to maximize my rights and benefits as a Starhub user. lol. Thanks for that =) .
P.S. I have given my utmost honest and satisfied feedback on their services to Starhub. Hopefully they can be recognized for their hard work.

Learning Action = Mathan = Sister's Keeper = Rina's Advanced Bday Celebration
I headed to school early this morning to do my online quiz for one of my elective module “Action Learning”. After attending the workshop and doing my own readings to prepare for the online quiz, I do find this elective relatively relevant be it outside or within work’s context. Not to mention, this elective module is one of the few that is less demanding compared to others. There is no assignment or exam unlike some electives. Some electives are insanely taxing whereby I need to do 2-3 assignments solely for it and even an exam for some. Haha thus for this elective, I just need to attend a 3 hours workshop and complete the online quiz that consists of 40 questions. For a glimpse of what is “Action Learning”, it is a process that involves a small group with diverse perspectives working on real problems, taking action, and learning while doing so and it a powerful management tool that creates dynamic opportunities for individuals, teams, leaders and organizations to successfully reflect, learn and innovate. As it was an online quiz, my result was revealed upon completion. Hehe, I did quite fairly for it.
After which to fully utilize my Saturday, I went for a haircut before meeting Rina for her advanced birthday celebration. Knowing how busy she can get on her birthday thus it is good to celebrate with her in advance. We went for dinner at Manhattan Fish Market at Plaza Singapura. I must count myself lucky as the queue started forming after me and I am the next patron in line. Rina was late because she needed to shop for play dough for her students and she could not locate where Manhattan Fish Market was. Thus I was in a bustling restaurant alone, haha I cannot help but felt a sense of emptiness during the wait. It is just like festive season where everyone is celebrating with their loved ones and I am left alone lol. Shortly after her arrival, there came the excitements and joys though the weather was gloomy but that did not affect us from being jolly. She showed me her 2nd hand Sony Cybershot Camera and it is a camera with glitch. Once it is switch off or on it will vibrate for a while like a pager, except that this “pager” can take photo, haha it is a Sony.
It is reported by Rina (oops) that this range of Sony's camera always malfunction.

A hurried dinner as we only had 40 minutes or so because we need to rush for movie. We decided to watch “My Sister’s Keeper” after hearing myriad positive reviews of it. Indeed, it is a poignant movie that enthralls me throughout the movie. I like the way that the director did not exaggerate the scenes and he filmed the movie just like how an outsider would witness it without overstressing it like look here she is dying, she is suffering, a bleak prognosis etc. There are several scenes that touched and dejected me deeply and I managed to gulp back my tears as the director will somehow inject some delightful scenes shortly after those disheartening scenes. Indeed a superlative movie that depicts even though someone's life is short yet it can be fulfilling.
My Sister's Keeper

Before heading home, I presented Rina with two birthday gifts, as she mentioned a few times that I did not give her any birthday gift for her last birthday. Which I clearly remembered that I did give her but the ironic part is that I do not remember what the gift was. Haha could it be a false memory instilled in my mind so that I can disillusion that I do not scrimp on birthday gift or forget about it.

byebyebye to the ultimate assignment till now ...
I nailed and submitted my psychology end-of-course assignment after spending countless labouriously hours on it. There were 3 sections to the assignment and words count for it was 3600 words or so. This assignment carries 50% of the course marks thus extra efforts must be dedicated for it. Though I am given 1 month to complete it but in actual fact I have lesser time than that. The assignment was known to me before the semester ends which means I have to attend lessons and to juggle with other assignments which due before the semester ends. Theoretically I have one week or so to nail it including time wastage due to lazing. Haha though how much I had procrastinated it yet I knew that I need to get over and done with it thus no more procrastination and channeled my willpower and energy to it. Haha to fight this battle definitely I need to have incentive thus I requested to have steamboat. Steamboat is my utmost motivator.

Angeline's Birthday Celebration
Today we celebrated Angeline’s Birthday at Mapo Doufu Restaurant; it is located near Sin Ming Ave which is near someone’s house. This is the second time that I am patronizing this steamboat restaurant for their Ma La Huo Guo but the main enticing factor to visit the restaurant is their free flow of mango puddings. The mango puddings served are simply mouth-watering. I can easily eat to my heart’s content about 10 mango puddings or even more for dessert for each visit. Their soup base is comparatively awesome except that it is quite spicy even we opted for least spicy Ma La. After eating a few pieces of the foods, we had to surrender and go for the chicken soup. Haha, we just leave the Ma La to boil for its aroma to embalm the air. I would love to go back there again for steamboat as I always love steamboat.
P.S. After the steamboat session, I always avoid looking at my expanded tummy because it is scary. Fortunately, it will return to it original state the next morning lol.

NHG Annual Scientific Congress & Fossil Duffle Bag
Today I was excused from work as I was sent to attend NHG Annual Scientific Congress. It was held at Suntec City a conventional hall filled with retail shops within its circumference. Haha, but too bad I am not on a shopping mission. The two days scientific and healthcare conference was organized by National Health Group (NHG) with participating healthcare institutions from the cluster. As NSC is under NHG therefore some staff are sent to participate to exchange or gain insights. As for me, I am there as a listening audience. Quite pleasing the whole conference, there are quite many interesting health topics discussed. I think the topic that beckoned me had to be Sexually Transmitted Infections (STIs) hosted by NSC because not only I get to know about the various STIs and also how horrifying it can affect me if I ever get infected lol. Aiyo, the pictures of affected people with STIs really serve as an alarming warning to me.
The lunch slot was scheduled for 90 minutes and that was quite a long lunch break. Since I am at Suntec City how can I give it a miss by not doing some window shopping lol. I chanced upon this Fossil bag that comes with detachable shoulder strap, therefore there are two ways of carrying it. The bag costs about $200. Haha, I am fond of big bag not because I have a lot of things to put in my bag just that carrying a big bag somehow engenders suaveness. Having a big bag is also good; because there are times that I need to put my apparel to change after work to party. But the downside is, it is quite difficult to maneuver in congested places lol. I always love Fossil since I was in primary as their products are classic and never seem to be irrelevant over times. Haha really have to laud them for their awesome authentic leather products.
This is the bag!!!

Goodbye to the Last Semester for 2009
Hooray the last lesson for the semester. A short hiatus from school is good, no more rushing from work to school for the time being. I will only resume classes in mid-Jan 09, provided that I defray the school fees. The best part is no need to do anymore irritating assignments that inhibits me from frolicking. Towards the end of the lesson, each of us was requested to give our thoughts or learning points. Well, being a docile student, definitely I would love to share my thoughts but I fabricated most of things that I said to give a socially desirable answer lol.

Submitted My Last Assignment For The Semester
I have just submitted my last assignment for this semester. It is a big relief as doing assignments is the most dreadful stuffs to do as a student. This assignment was a group project and I am tasked to collate all the materials from my group members to compile it into a report. For every group project, the certainty of facing a plethora of problems is inevitable. Problems like no proper citation, sending an error document, late submission and so on. Thus I had to do the coordination part to call, highlight the problem(s) and remind. Haha, I felt like an irritant myself lol so persistent in contacting them. But overall, the quality of work that they had submitted was good and after compiling it, it just felt like those frustrations or problems did not exist at all as everything was worth the efforts.
I do not mind doing group or individual assignment because each has its own suite of challenges. Well, doing group project is that there will be inputs from other people and the workloads can be divided. Compared to individual assignment where you will be more or less on your own. The con of group project is group meetings where everyone will come together to discuss on how to tackle the project. This will usually consume a lot of time where everyone has their own ideas and how to compromise every given inputs to minimize disagreements. Therefore you can have numerous meetings and everyone is still trying to maneuver to reach an agreement for the project. This is definitely a huge challenge as being working adult cum part-time student, most of us do not enjoy the luxury of time. Thus it is extremely vital to choose the right group members with the appropriate working attitude. I am glad that for this semester my group members are wonderful people to work with.

Course Evaluation = Semester Ending Soon ...
Nearing the end of the semester, every student will have to submit his/her course evaluation before he/she can register for next semester’s modules. Thus, whenever it is time for me to do the course evaluation, it symbolizes that my semester is ending soon and I will have the opportunity to feedback on my lecturers and tutors.
My first semester experience with course evaluation was disastrous and until now, it is still resonating in my head. I am unaware that I am supposed to do the course evaluation. I am still struggling to determine whether I have read it and forgot about it or inadequate instructions or reminders for me. Well, if Unisim did step up reminders like now to remind students, I will not forget about it. I remembered that, I did not receive so many notifications like this semester to remind me to do my course evaluation. I cannot help but to say that things may slip out of your mind easily when you are busy. So many things to remember every single day, thus reminders are greatly appreciated.
For my part, I do not want to go through the hassle to appeal so that I can register the modules for the next semester just because I failed to do my course evaluation. Thus, I will indicate all the important dates on my calendar for me to stay on schedule.
Because I did not register early for my modules that time and one of the year 1 module was unavailable. I had to choose a year 2 module to replace it. Wah, I must say it was damn stressful at that time. Maybe I am a year 1 student and all of a sudden, I am doing a year 2 semester 2 module. There were three assignments for this module and all were project-based, finding group mates was not a feat, where I had to face rejection and I had to be impervious to rejection. However, I managed to join a group but I could sense that they are kind but quite unwillingly. I think that this is quite understandable, thus I did not blame them. As time goes by, maybe because of tacit understandings, they began to acknowledge my contributions to the group. During the last lesson, they even asked me to approach them if I ever encountered any problems for my future modules. Which made me very much appreciated and comforted. I am still glad that I joined this group as they are extremely hardworking and always on the move because of that we were able to achieve good grades.

Last Psychology Tutorial =(
Today marks the end of my Psychology’s tutorial and thoughts on that bring hefty nostalgia. This semester for my Psychology module, I am fortunate to have an incredible lecturer and tutor. Both of their lessons were interesting and intriguing which helped to satisfy my inquisitive mind because Psychology is one tantalizing subject. They cleverly incorporate relevant video clips to arouse our interests in the topic so to relate it better to us. Which I much appreciated them for doing it, at least it makes me keen on the topics. They do not make their lessons very dry or hard to comprehend.
I think what makes my tutor remarkable is that she makes the efforts to remember each of her students’ names. By the second or third lesson, she almost can identity who are we by calling our names. I find it impressive and kudos for her initiative for wanting to know us. Haha, thanks to her guidance, I fared quite well for my assignments.
This is the last video clip that my tutor showed us before explaining what is “Bystander Intervention”. The video is quite interesting as there are different scenarios to show when bystanders will help you and under what circumstances they do not. For instance, making small talk, or blasting your music irritatingly, flirting with his/her partner, a beautiful blonde lady etc.
