Finally showing your True Colours ...

It was a fun-packed Sunday, with F1 happening in Singapore. Haha I did not go and watch the race because I am not really into that. A few days before meeting up we agreed to meet at Cityhall subconsciously not realizing that FI was held there. Upon reaching there, I could not help but was trembled by the loud sound produced from F1. Haha even though I am at around Bugis area I could still hear the sound crispy clear.

Kailin was the last to arrive about 2hrs later with valid reason so we just closed one eye lah. Everyone was extremely late including myself late for 20 mins yet I can be the first to arrive lol. We headed to Mind Café to play our lovely evening there.

Maybe it was due to F1, Mind Café was empty for the first time.

True Colors

There is one interesting game that we played for the first time. It is called “True Colors” and it is a game that assesses your friends’ perception of you. It has innumerable questions that are moderately acceptable not too personal or hurtful. Which is important, if not it will spoil the game.

Each player gets to choose a colour to represent him or herself. After which, each player will be given two of the same colours cards of other players for voting purpose.

Lastly, there are three types of voting cards to be given to each player. If you think you will have no vote for that question asked, you will place the vote card of a 0 icon, if you think you will have some votes you will place a +/- icon’s card and lastly if you think that you will have the most votes, you will place a + icon’s card.

If you managed to deduce correctly for zero & most votes you get 3 points and some vote will get 1 point. Haha, like there was one question like who do you think is the most easygoing among the players; being very confident that I am the most easygoing I placed most votes card for myself. But in the end, the verdict was that I did not get the most votes and it was Jia Wei. Thus, that is quite interesting, to know how your friends perceive of you. Going back to that easygoing question, I think it is quite true that to a certain extend I might be easygoing (agree?? lol) but maybe just not the most. Just shortly after the game we went for Zi Char, I picked up the menu to see what dishes to order and unknowingly I suggested four dishes and Su Ying requested for one dish. Then I turned to them and made a causal remark and said “We have 6 people here, do you all want to order one dish for yourself”, whereby I already suggested four dishes leaving the rest with not much of preferred dishes to choose. After that everyone unanimously commented that there was nothing much to order where I already suggested 4 dishes lol. Suddenly so united lor. Haha, well I have to say that I am just merely providing suggestions and not being bossy lol. Definitely a recommended game if you want to know what your friends think of you. =)

My Mother bought Snowskin Green Tea Mooncake from East Ocean for me and every year she will buy it without fail. This is the only type of mooncake I like to savour.

hmmm so yummy my fave. haha I like the box and gonna use it at work to store my stationery.

a "LOST" Saturday

In the morning, I went back to Unisim for my project discussion and it was quite a drag to go Unisim on a Sat morning. Not only the journey was long but it is a Sat where I can have the opportunity to sleep late. Thankfully, the discussion went swimmingly and after lunch I left Unisim at 1pm. Next stop was Yishun where I went for my haircut, well it was not too bad the cut but I prefer something else. By the time everything was done, I reached home at about 6pm. Wah!!! I did not do much yet it took up a large portion of my time. It is as though I went for work; it is all because of the traveling, here and there, wasted so much time on it.

I managed to squeeze out some time to watch Lost after borrowing it for ages from my friend. Well, first few episodes were quite lackluster, talking about how are they going to settle on the island after they survived from a plane crash.

There was one scene which I think is quite amazing and miracle that a pregnant lady who is about to due anytime can be safe and sound after she was pushed away to escape from one huge falling debris. It was quite an impact when she dived onto the ground. Though the ground is sandy because it is a beach but it is that realistic that she can be unharmed. She was able to stand up and walk after that. Haha, it really beats me. It is one interesting topical island with polar bears and you can witness them being attacked by it.

Aiyo, I think I am really getting lost as I continue to watch it. It is just like what the series title is "LOST". The things that keep me watching are because they will touch on the survivors’ past, who are the “Others” mentioned in the series and the reason for the plane crash (which will be revealed in Season 2).

Fortunately, the 5th season of Lost was aired a few months back and it will conclude in its 6th season which is scheduled for release in 2010. Thus, I do not have to wait for years to watch the finale season. I could not imagine if I had watched 1st season in 2004 and i have to wait for 6 years to watch the finale. Haha, I do not wish to be in suspense for 6 years.

OkOk Another Day of MC: COPY THAT

Today I decided to see another Dr. for second opinion as I do think that my family Dr. is not being very helpful for my case. This Dr. is very renowned and has many people waiting to see him everyday. The queue can start 1hr 30mins before the clinic open and walk-in have limited slots because he has patients with appointment to see him. Haha, I used to see him frequently when I was in Primary school for fever. I can remember that I am very susceptible to fever during my childhood.

I spent $80 for the medical bill, which I did not expect it as I expected it to be more. I was given 3 types of medications and did a culture urine test to detect and identify organisms that are affecting my medical condition. He informed me that doing a culture urine test is essential to understand my condition. For my previous 2 visits to my family Dr., he did not even suggest that and merely conducted a normal urine test to test for blood, protein, glucose and leucocytes and I was charged $82 for each visit and he gave me 1 type of medication.

He is the Dr. that treated my ears previously when I injured it due to clubbing. It was quite terrifying to hear ringing sound in your ears even after 1 day of clubbing. He told me that I had damaged my ears’ nerves and luckily, I did not suffer from hearing loss. I still remember I had seen the condition of it being bloody and raw, like bruises. It is quite serious as exposure to loud music/noise kills our hair cells, and once our hair cells are gone, and it is gone eternally, which will affect our hearing sensitivity. Now I have learnt how to protect my ears from damage.

I was surprised when I saw this latest Vidal Sassoon commercial. Prior to that, there was no notice that the release of the commercial is today. This is the fourth highly-anticipated Vidal Sassoon advertising campaign that once again features Namie, Patricia Field and Orlando Pita. What is groundbreaking about this Vidal Sassoon advertising campaign is that it comprises of Fashion, Music, Vidal Sassoon to create an epic hair care and styling series commercials. It is an extremely high-budget and glamour commercial. Just when I thought how beautifully, the previous commercials were and definitely, that was already an epic and I personally did not expect it to get even better when Vidal Sassoon rolls out these two new commercials.

They have come together to present “Reborn” and “Amuroad World Styling” the latest Vidal Sassoon hair care and styling series.

Patricia Field is responsible for designing the outfits and Orlando Pita for the styling of the hair. Just a little background information on Patricia Field, she is the costume designer for Sex and the City, The Devil Wears Prada, Ugly Betty and many more. Orlando Pita has worked with many big names like Madonna, Julia Robert, Janet Jackson, Prada, Miu Miu and many more. Namie is responsible for the music aspect.

Reborn

Wah!!! how the shiny beautiful hair has no gravity and goes up in the galaxy. COOL!!!

Amuroad World Styling

3 chic looking Namie, and my personal fave, the Russia Namie lol!!!

Vidal Sassoon never fails to bring excitement and glamour in their commercials.

Ayu-Ebayer?

HohOhO, I am pleased to flaunt my Ayumi’s Remix CDs on my blog. I have just received one of the CD today and I still have 4 CDs more to go to complete my collection lol. I defrayed an average of $10 for each CD, haha quite a good bargain. Cheap deal, Cheap thrill.

The seller that I purchased from actually made a mistake in the description and photo. He stated that the CD will come with a CD Box which it failed to deliver. Thus, I sent an amicable email to enquire on that as I was thinking he might have forgotten about it or wat. He is a Japanese seller and he apologized profusely that it was his mistake for the misleading description and photo. He even suggested refunding partially for his mistake. Wah!!! What a good seller. Since he apologized earnestly and I also show understanding that to err is human. Thus, I told him that I do not wish to pursue the matter and accepted his apology. Well, since he is so nice and I bought it for $10 and still make a big fuss over it. I will be very ashamed of myself for being such a difficult person.

All these CDs were purchased from ebay and I have been an active user on ebay since Jan’09. I believe I have purchased around 60 over CDs from ebay lol. Initially before bidding on ebay, I have to admit that I am quite skeptical to it. As I will always hear negative reviews like receiving damaged items or defrayed the money but never receive the item. It was being portrayed with a high tendency of meeting swindlers that are out to cheat you. Having to undergo a myriad of seamless dealings, I must say yes it is undeniable that swindlers will be around; and you just have to take cautious before bidding and always scrutinize the buyers’ feedbacks for credibility. Most of the items on ebay are used items and as long as the CD has minimal scratches on it and does not jerk when playing, it is absolutely fine with me.

At ebay, the seller has the options to allow you to purchase the item without bidding and vice versa. When someone bids the same item as me and the price has already exceeded my limit. I will not want to continue to bid for it and I will be evil to purposely place a few more bids to increase the selling price for that buyer lol. Haha, it is quite a sweet revenge and sicko thing to do lol.

It would be good to register a Paypal account for easy dealings as most ebayers use that. It is very hassle-free and safe to use Paypal, all you have to do is to have a debit/credit card to register for it. To add on, if there is any glitch in the transaction with the seller, you can actually report it through Paypal for a refund. It will protect the interest of the users so as to enable them to request for a refund for valid reasons. Haha, I am glad that I found this excellent service and it has been around for eons.

Lastly, I am still a hardcore fan of Namie, as I only purchase Ayumi’s stuffs on ebay lol.

MC for Today

I went to see my family doctor for the second time due to my persistent medical condition. He gave me two options, first option is to continue on the medications as he said I am convalescing with the prescribed medications, second option is to go for a detailed check in the hospital. Well, I chose the first option and shall observe how my prognosis would be like after completing my course of medications. I went for five tests and the results were the same which worries me quite a bit. Since NSC had referred me to TTSH for follow-up. Thus, what I can do now is to constantly check with TTSH whether there is any earlier appointment slot and also to take my medicines faithfully. My initial appointment with TTSH was on 20/11/09 and after a few calls I managed to secure an appointment slot on 02/11/09. Hmm, still quite faraway the date and I shall pester them to check for earlier appointment slot, every now and then lol. Since nothing is confirmed yet, I shall not make myself worried too much.

Tonight I had my inaugural group meeting with my groupies. We are known as absentees group because we missed one tutorial where everyone was supposed to form groups. Thus, we are known as the legendary absentees group. From there I even acquired that they will be group members for another module for the same reason lol. Haha upon hearing it, I can’t help but to burst into laughter. Aiyo, grouped together because of absenteeism. Though we are much inclined to absenteeism but we are diligent students, just that for some reasons we are unable to attend class lol. I was appointed as the group leader, wah stressed, haha I prefer to be an ordinary group member.

After lesson, I received a phone call from Rina because her friend spotted me at the bus stop. Haha, she brought up something which I reckoned it to be quite funny and thoughtful. We were supposed to meet last Friday during her one week school holiday, but in the end we did not because I did not give her any affirmative on it. Haha, so Rina’s style when she mentioned it, so dramatic. Ok, we should meet up soon!!!

For today and last week, Ji Tang’s friend Mr. KK offered to give me a lift home so nice of him. Therefore, more savings for me as I do not have to spend money on taxi.

Undone Assignment that Dues Tomorrow

Haiz, I am crestfallen, I am so not motivated to complete this assignment and I have to submit it by tomorrow noon. Gosh!!!, i know it is frustrating to read this post as you would probably know that I will do it eventually. Just that i need to ventilate my negative ions.

Just a piece of good news, finally I can submit my overdue stats as it was being held up by one of my colleague. It can be quite a distress and horrifying to have people chasing after you for the submission. Aiyo!!! just when i thought everything was settled and now more problems evolving. Aiyoyo!!! More crisis management to embark on.

I have a Weekend with no Company's Affair

Saturday: 12/09/09
I went to Elvis birthday celebration at Pasir Ris Chalet.

While I am heading to the Pasir Ris bus interchange, I met Sze Hui and this time around we did not depend on her friend for us to spot each other lol. I reached there at about 7pm+ and went to the bus stop at 0044. Amazingly, I still managed to catch the last bus. I was taking a chance whether would I be able to make it for the last bus and was elated that it was worthwhile to take the chance. The last bus timing is 0038 and I was 6 minutes late. WhOoo, I still managed to catch it lol. After boarding the bus, I knew why I am so heng, because the bus was moving at quite a turtle speed. Haiz, I shouldn’t grumble if not I would be taking a taxi with midnight charges that night.

It was great to see Elvis and them after so long and updating with one another’s affairs. Gossiping about someone, this never fails to crack us up lol. He is a classic I must say. I ate a lot of my favourite sambal stingray, haha, they were so accommodating. It was a simple gathering yet provides a boon moment to all.

Unknowingly, i was standing in the middle stealing the limelight from the birthday boy. lol

Friday: 11/09/09

I had a mahjong session after work at my house with Susan, Melissa and Cai Luan. It has been eons since we had mahjong session together because the host is pretty tied down with his personal obligations lol. Well, I think I performed quite fairly as I did not lose much. I lost about $6+ which I can consider as relatively good, as I am not a good player lol. I can’t observe or surmise what tiles are the rest of players holding or waiting. I just go accordingly to my guts and also luck. Therefore, I don’t prepare myself to win; to win is considered as a bonus to me. Haha, so I am like the ATM to give money away if you are willing to play mahjong with me. Susan made a wonderful suggestion that we should not torture ourselves to play late @ night and to play in the afternoon on a weekend. Phew!!! Finally, she can understand how tiring it can be. I always have this unanimously conclusion with my colleague that when we start to age and have late nights, it is hard for our bodies to recuperate the lost vitality. It is so damn true!!! After the late nights, I can be listless on the next day and even the day after. Compared to my younger days, the more late nights I had, the more alive I would be.

We listened to Disney love songs at one point of time and wah immediate flashback on our poignant memories with Disney. This Disney CD belongs to one of my secondary school friend (Ms. Bey) and I didn’t return it lol. It has been with me for 10 years as I remembered I borrowed from her in year 1999. If not, we would not be able to reminisce our childhood memories during mahjong. Haha, zhang wei ji you lol. Susan borrowed “Beauty and the Beast” and “Cinderella” DVDs from me as she said she never watch before, haiz deprived childhood, and since she lent me her 101 love songs CDs which I wanted to buy badly. I lent it to her willingly lol.

The Disney CD that we listened.

The tracklist, which explains why i keep forgetting to return it lol.

I like the cover very romantic with numerous lovely dovely post-it note messages.

Lastly, they were so evil to comment on facebook to wish themselves good luck and asked me to stand aside!!!!

Not for the fainted-heart.

BEST FICTION TOUR 2008 - 2009 Teaser

"Do Me More" one of my fave songs and the opening song for the concert. An introductory video for the tour made by a fan.

I have seen critics by people who bought the Blu-ray that the video quality was superb and it was crisp clear until they were able to see the sparkle from the glitter powder on her body. Wah!!! That is so detailed but it comes with a hefty price tag, for the Blu-ray it costs $90+ for Japan version. Btw, I have not watched any Blu-ray thingy before. Furthermore, I think that DVD quality is already very good and Blu-ray still can beat it, wah!!! bu ke si yi.

I have not watched the concert yet even though there were leaks as I do not want to spoil my anticipation when seeing it on DVD. I am just waiting for the overseas version as Japan version for the DVD costs about $80. Hmm, quite pricey lol.

NSC Family Day & Samuel 21st Bday Celebration

Yesterday was NSC annual Family Day and we had it at Jurong Safra. It commenced at about 9am and ended at about 3pm.

I spent an hour travelling time there and East West line is not really a cushy ride. It is rather bumpy and shaky. Haha, travelling that line makes your body undergo a mini gym routine.

I woke up at 7:10am to meet my colleague at 8:40am to go together. I dragged myself out of bed as I slept at about 2 am, it was an extreme inadequate of sleep.

I am glad that I had exhibited determination to make it there if not I would not have won third prize for the lucky draw.

Actually, I was quite unlucky even though I won the third prize because if my fellow colleagues had stayed for the lucky draw, I would not have won it. Those people who did not stay until the lucky draw, which was the last programme for the day, they had to draw for another winner. Imagine, there were 50 lucky draw prizes and not all employees of NSC went for the family day and that significantly reduced the number of attendees therefore, the chances of winning should be quite optimal. Nevertheless, I still won a third prize and I heard it was a $200+ crystal bowl. Well, I am going to claim the prize tomorrow =). To add on, during my company’s D&D I won about $160 too lol. Therefore, can I declare myself as lucky or not? To wrap up, I was immersed with joys and laughter for the event and to be honest I did not expect myself to have enjoyed it to the fullest.

My 3rd Prize Notification.

My Yellow Teammates.

After it was over, I headed to Orchard Ion to collect my jean (cannot wait to wear it). The watch that I bought for my mother required some adjustment on the watchband as it was too big for her wrist.

After running those errands, I had to head home to prepare for Samuel 21st birthday celebration held at Tanglin Club. Samuel indicated the dress code to be formal wear and I was quite opposed with it initially because from Monday to Friday, I have to wear formal to work and on a Saturday too. Once reached there, I realized that if you did not dress in formal wear, you would feel quite awkward and underdressed. That place is posh and the buffet spread was lavish. I must say this is not really the usual 21st birthday celebration more like a corporate event like D&D or a wedding dinner; he even hired a professional MC for the day. He had a video of flashbacks on his life, something like what people usually do for their wedding dinner. Indeed, it was really a lifetime experience to witness how out of the ordinary that birthday celebration was. In short, it was a blast birthday celebration and Samuel thanks for the invite once again. Ohh ya, we bought for him a tutorial book on photography which is something he is into and glad that he wholly accepted the gift as he likes it very much! hehe lol.

Same colour tie with the birthday boy. lol

I believe if someone at the front move back, the photo will look nicer. Don't you all agree? lol

**Before i say it it a wrap, i would like to take this opportunity to wish Christelle and Samuel a very Happy Birthday and bountiful of good returns. Though i wished them in Facebook but i still insist to be long-winded lol.

Ion, Marina Square, Suntec City & J8

I had a shopping spree @ Orchard Ion, Marina Square & Suntec City today. Supposedly, I should meet Rina to go shopping together but recently I have been a big sotong and mixed up the date. We should meet next Friday and not this Friday. Since I have already applied my leave, I have decided to utilize it wisely. I set off at around 1pm and ended my shopping sprees at 6pm+.

After which, I went to meet my Uncle and his family for dinner at Lao Beijing to celebrate his birthday. He is like my godfather who dotes on me and i went to Suntec City to purchase a Braun Buffel wallet for him. Haha I like that wallet very much.

In all, I had an ineffable joy swiping my cards lol. This is my inaugural shopping sprees that I spent $870.35 in a day. I HAVE NEVER SEEN myself spending so much on shopping in a day lol. After spending such a big portion of my wages away, it motivates me to stay on to my job if not how I can subsist. I guess I am beginning to love myself =).

P.S. to my Dear Friends who still own me money, may I appeal to you all to IBANK me soon? Thanks. Your dear friend here is having depleting money in his bank. lol

FOX @ Bishan Junction 8 (I am a member therefore I enjoy 25% discount from 4-6 Sept & 15% discount from 7-21 Sept)

RIVER ISLAND @ Orchard Ion (I love the belt there as it is reversible, one belt two colours, just twist the buckle, there you go another colour to match your clothes.)

UNIQLO @ Orchard Ion (I bought a skinny jean and it is not in the picture as it is in the process of alteration. UNIQLO alters for free if it costs above $29.90. Quite a gd deal!)

TOPMAN @ Orchard Ion (The Donald Duck T-Shirt caught my attention instantly as it is my fave disney character lol. I gotta have it lol. I am a member therefore I enjoy 10% discount.)

Swatch @ Orchard Ion (My Mother's birthday gift and the coloured crystals that were embedded on the watch are from Swarovski. She likes coloured crystals especially when it is from Swarovski.)

Domanchi @ Marina Square (I like to get my working shoes from there because it is comfy and reasonable priced) (I am a member therefore I enjoy 10% discount)

Tomorrow is NSC's family day and i am going to grace the event. It is at Jurong Safra, it so faraway from my house. Well, hopefully i will have a good time there.

Next blogging entry will be an ugly epsiode that happened on last Tuesday at work that ignited my aggravation. I shall not spoil this blissful post.

Rosy Business aka 巾幗梟雄 Official Promotional Poster

I stayed at home for my Sunday to watch TVB drama serial. I watched “Rosy Business (Click on the link for Synopsis) aka 巾幗梟雄”, it is currently the top rated TVB drama serial but I think most probably it would be for the year 2009. If I have indulged myself with 17 episodes in a single day, it somehow informs you how superb and intriguing the drama serial is. It is really very intense especially the acting by Wayne Lai and Sheren Tang. This drama serial revolves around this family being the biggest export in rice business and how rice business defer from other businesses. As rice is the daily need of foods for human thus, they could not afford risk anyone with evil intentions from taking over the business. Sheren Tang in the show has the obligation to stabilize the sale price of the rice and keeps it affordable for the public. If not, the public will have to buy expensive rice and leads to serious consequences. Before she can achieve it, she has to overcome the overwhelming obstacles to protect her family and the business. It is a witty drama serial that portrays the scheming and benevolent aspect of humans. Just prepare a lot of tissue papers as there are many scenes that can cause you to be emotional and maybe you will end up wailing. I have finished the serial yesterday and it is definitely a must watch TVB serial drama of 2009.

Saturday: 29/08/09

I went back to NSC in the morning for our annual Community Outreach Programme. The purpose of this programme is to assist our needy patients and hopefully by doing this small act we can help them to tide over their deplorable state. As I reside in Hougang therefore I was assigned to visit those patients staying in Hougang with my colleagues. It was quite a fulfilling experience, witnessing everyone coming together to give something back to the society and of course our recipients were very appreciative, which made our time spent even more worthwhile.

At night, we celebrated Jia Wei’s birthday in advance at Empire State at Iluma. Empire State is like a cheaper alternative to New York New York. There is quite a lot of similar between the two, from the décor to the foods. Fortunately, Empire State can be considered as a good alternative to New York New York. After the dinner, we went to Minds Café since it is within walking distance and even though we spent an hour there but it was definitely an enjoyable moment.

Jia Wei's Sweetheart Birthday, because of the cake that we bought for him. Strawberry Sweetheart from Four Leaves

Friday: 28/08/09

After work, I went to meet Samuel, David, Chris and Wen Jie for dinner. David introduced us to a Zi Char eating place called “Chin Eating House” at Purvis Street. Initial thought was it would be quite impractical to eat Zi Char at town district because our neighourhood’s coffee shops have it and there is no need to travel to Purvis Street. Haha, that kind of mentally, but it was a good recommendation, the foods are reasonably priced and even though the place was fully packed with people the servicing of foods are relatively quick. The service is quite good and the foods are scrumptious. Definitely, I would want to visit there again.

After the dinner we located ourselves to Minds Café which is a few shops away. I love their brownie served with vanilla ice-cream and their earl gery float.

The games that we normally play are as follows:

Jurassic Jumble

This game is something similar to heart attack. The first player to collect the cards with the same colour will take the bone discreetly. The rest of the players will have to snatch the remaining bones. The player who did not manage to have a bone will lose. Prior to that, you can exchange any amount of cards with any players to get the cards of the same colour. In the midst of exchanging there will be a lot of hollering because you need to get the attention of other players to exchange with you. It is a noisy and heart racing game.

Saboteur

For this game, there will be two groups of people the Saboteurs and the Miners. Saboteurs’ role is to prevent the Miners for obtaining the gold and they have to go all their way to destroy their paths. It is a mind game as you will not know who are the Saboteurs. It is all about plotting and framing other players to make yourself less suspicion if you are Saboteurs. As in the game, there will be more Miners than Saboteurs and everyone seems to be your friends.

Uno Stacko

This can be sabotage game; because you can allow the next player to draw cards and eventually making the stacko to collapse.

Uglydoll

This game is all because good eyesight and attention span. You must be able to spot 3 identical figures and stamp on it with the shouting “Ugly Ugly”. If anyone is able to fulfill the criteria, you can take the cards.

Taboo

You need to think on your feet for this game as you are given a limited time to help your partner to guess the word by not verbalizing those help words found on the card.

Sleeping Queens

This game is actually quite relaxing to play, just wake up the Queens and you have some power cards to help you to win. Quite an easy game that is not brain draining.
